Thies Leijsen
Thies Leijsen is specialized in all areas of employment law. In addition to that, he is also very experienced in administrative law and public service law.
Thies studied law at the Maastricht University and obtained his master’s degree at the University of Westminster in London. He started his career as an attorney-at-law in the Netherlands and subsequently worked for multiple years at a law firm on St. Maarten, inter alia as state advocate of the then island territory of St. Maarten. As of 2011 he switched to the leading law firm on Curacao and later on transferred internally to their branch on Bonaire, where he assisted a variety of clients, such as governmental bodies as well as local and international clients in the private sector.
Besides his work as an attorney-at-law, Thies regularly speaks at meetings and events on various topics. He was also the dean of the Bonaire Bar Association for many years and is a lecturer in employment law and administrative law at the Training Institute Bonaire. Because of his general interest in the law, he attended Harvard Summer School in 2023, where he successfully completed the course Global Digital Law and Politics.

Sophie van Lint
Sophie van Lint specializes in employment and public service law. She has more than 14 years of experience in these fields, as well as in other fields, such as general law of obligations and administrative law.
Sophie is considered the designated lawyer of various government departments, educational institutions and companies throughout the Dutch Caribbean. Consequently, she deals with and litigates diverse legal issues, ranging from contractual matters to high-stakes disputes.
Sophie graduated with honors in private law from Tilburg University in 2005. She then cycled from the Netherlands to Tibet, more than 18.000 kilometers!
Upon her return, she worked as a court administration clerk at the court of first instance in Dordrecht. After that, she worked as a general manager for two hotels on Saba. From 2010 until 2024, Sophie worked at a prestigious law firm on Bonaire, also performing work for clients on Curacao, Sint Maarten, Aruba, Saba and Statia.
For Sophie, high quality advice and a personal and pragmatic approach are the top priorities when assisting clients. She is accessible and recognizes the importance of good communication and service.
